Super Bowl LIX Prop Bets 2.0
Last week we tipped some fun props for Super Bowl LIX and we’re going to view this game through the prism of the prop market in this week’s release.
The side is super tight at around Chiefs -1/-1.5 and the total is 48.5 consensus. The total touched 50 at Caesars on the Sunday following the AFC & NFC title games.
Now with the total at 48.5, we can’t recommend a pre-game bet on the total. In-game live betting can present opportunity to get a better Under price if the teams get off to a hot start.
Since this is the last football game to bet until late August, it’s very tempting to go crazy and have 15 bets on this game. Our advice is have a sniper mentality and be very precise with the bets to place rather than use the spray and pray approach.
Here are a handful of props to choose from that are a mix of entertaining props and props that forecast how the game could unfold. All these bets have odds that are subject to change so shop around.
Super Bowl LIX Props 2.0
Super Bowl MVP
Saquon Barkley +260 (ESPNBet)
This feels like a very square play, but here’s the logic on making this bet. If the Eagles are going to win the game, Barkley will likely have a major role in the Philly success. This wager is simply a proxy for an Eagles money line bet with all the inherent risk of an Eagles win and someone else being awarded MVP a possibility. The best money line price for Philly is +102 (FanDuel) so this is a better way to attack the Eagles ML with the opportunity for a better payout.
1st Half Result/2nd Half Result (Caesars Sportsbook)
Tie/Eagles +2100 & Tie/Chiefs +1700
Place a bet on each of these as a quasi proxy for the 1st half tie. The best part of this combo wager (this is not a parlay) — if the first half ends in a tie, then you will turn a profit since you will have the winning bet in pocket. This is a fun prop since you will know the win/loss on the bet at halftime and will make your second half viewing experience less stressful.
1st Quarter Total
Under 9.5 -108 (FanDuel)
This total is always a bit of a psychological struggle since bettors usually want to bet good things to happen or bet things they want to see, like scoring.
The rationale on this wager is the following…If the Eagles can get the opening possession, they are such a heavy run team, they could have a 12 play 7 minute drive that could end in a FG or end on a turnover on downs. Head Coach Nick Sirianni is very aggressive on 4th down, so the Eagles style could backfire if they fail on a 4th down conversion in the red zone, for instance. Now, if the Chiefs get the ball first, they can be a very methodical offense as well, using the short passing game to inch that ball down the field. Like Philly, KC could certainly have a long drive to open the game that takes 6 to 7 minutes off the clock. Lastly, the big game jitters is in play with both teams being nervous and hesitant to make a big mistake, so an exchange of punts early in the quarter is on the table.
Scorigami: Unique final score in NFL history
Yes +2800 (BetMGM)
This wager is a roulette wheel spin in the hopes that the final score will be unique.
Nflscorigami.com has the chart showing all the final scores that have never happened in league history.
The results that have the most likelihood to cash this bet have the losing team landing on 8,11 and 15. With teams attempting 2 point conversions more often than in years past, a team down 22-3 could easily go for 2 to cut the lead to 22-11 which is a winning Scorigami result.
This is a dart throw novelty bet and nothing more than that.
Enjoy the Super Bowl and good luck with all your bets!
