Super Bowl 58 Part 2
Last week we offered up our play on the Under 47.5 +105 (DraftKings) and suggested prop bets on 49ers FB Kyle Juszczyk, whose rushing yards props were as low as 0.5 yards in sports books across the Vegas market, but the books on other jurisdictions seem to have a smaller menu. If you can find a Kyle Juszczyk total rushing yards prop in the range of 0.5 to 2.5 yards, we’d still recommend an over bet there.
One of the biggest issues we encountered in the betting market was finding books outside of Vegas with a deep prop menu. Draftkings rushing prop menu featured only 7 players and Kyle Juszczyk was not on their menu. Similarly, FanDuel, Ceasars, BetMGM & BetRivers all feature a very thin player prop menu which is disappointing.
Recreational Super Bowl 58 Props
Here are 3 props that we’d recommend if you really want to fire on some props to keep things entertaining during the game. Just sprinkle some 1/4 to 1/2 unit money on these since they are designed for recreation.
Length of the longest drive Under 77.5 +140 (DraftKings)
At plus money, this is a bet we’d make with a small 1/4 to 1/2 unit play. It’s a bit contrarian, but we can’t resists the plus money price DK is posting.
49ers total points Under 18.5 +240 (DraftKings)
This is another plus money play that is rooted in a contrarian angle. There is a scenario where the Chiefs really control the game with their running game and short west coast offense passing attack. We’re trying to consider the outlier results for this game and a Chiefs 24-16 outcome isn’t far fetched. We’re giving ourselves a little cushion and going with the 18.5 total.
Either team to score 3 unanswered times “Yes” -155 (DraftKings)
This is a prop that most casual bettors tend to bet “No” and the likelihood of either team getting 3 straight scores is strong given the 2 head coaches.
Both Andy Reid and Kyle Shanahan like to defer the opening kickoff if they win the toss. This gives them the opportunity to score at the end of the half and receive the kick at the start of the 2nd half. If one team can score with three minutes left in the half, force a 3 & out, regain possession and score at the end of half, then that 3rd Q opening possession just needs a FG to cash this prop. It’s a fun prop since it’s a bet that keep the bettors fully engaged during play.
Again, the spirit of these props is recreational and intended to be something fun to have in play during the game. It is akin to the Super Bowl squares you’ll find at parties across the country.
Enjoy the Super Bowl and best of luck with all the bets on Sunday!
