Fed Ex Cup Playoffs continue in Wilmington, DE
Last week we got back on track by trusting our process which yielded a +2.7 unit week. Zalatoris won outright and Burns barely got into the Top 20 to give us a 2-1 mark. This week, the Tour heads to Wilmington, DE for some reason for the BMW Championship. Wilmington CC is the venue and a course that isn’t typically in the Fed Ex playoff rotation.
Here is the course summary:
Par 71, 7543 yards
Tree-lined parkland, elevation changes, sloped fast greens
Bent fairways/greens
4"+ bluegrass/fescue rough
8th longest course past 3 yrs
8th most bunkers, 2nd largest greens (8,100)
3 par-4s 490+, 2 par-5s 630+, 3 par-3s 200+
Based on he early comments from players, the recipe for success this week will be hitting it long, consistently hitting greens in regulation and three putt avoidance.
Here are the names who made the card:
Denny McCarthy Top 20 +290 (FanDuel)
McCarthy has been really solid all season and sits at 36th on the Fed Ex standings. With a good week, he could qualify for the Tour Championship if he can sneak into the Top 30. This is a pick purely based on putting. McCarthy is a world class putter and ranks 3rd on Tour in strokes gained putting. He also ranks 30th in 3-putt avoidance so these large greens should be a surface he can navigate with success.
Brian Harman Top 20 +200 (FanDuel)
Harman is such a solid player through the entire bag and his stats reflect that. He is 54th in the 3-putt avoidance stat which will be important this week. He is 23rd in the Fed Ex standings so he needs a solid finish to get to East Lake for the Tour Championship. He’s made 6 of his last 7 cuts with three top 10s during that span so his current form is super solid.
