CFB & NFL - recap of all plays
Here are the plays for this week I feel best about.
Auburn at South Carolina +7
This line has moved to +7.5, but that doesn’t scare me off this play. The Gamecocks need a win to get bowl eligible and I promise you that means something to their players. Going to a bowl is a big deal, especially if you are trying to build a culture like Shane Beamer in Columbia. On the flip side, Auburn already has a bowl bid secured and they come to town without their starting QB Bo Nix who is out of the season with a broken ankle. The South Carolina defense was sub-par last week vs. Missouri. They will bounce back this week to their season long form of being very stout.
Oregon +3.5 at Utah
Oregon gets a bad rap nationally as a team that doesn’t play well in big games. The data doesn’t support that reputation. Yes, the Ducks are bad ATS at home, only covering 5 games in the last 4 years in Eugene. However, when they travel, they show out. I like physical teams on the road since physicality travels well. I love Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham. I think he gets more out of his roster than just about any coach in the FBS. This is a solid team, but they are not on the same level as Oregon. Back the Ducks who keep their playoff hopes alive.
NFL 2 team teaser:
Saints +8/WFT +9
The Saints game is simple - I get Sean Payton vs Nick Siriani. Enough said.
WFT gets to face a rusty Cam Newton and has a coach who knows all of Cam’s tendencies, strengths and weaknesses. This should be a very low scoring game so getting 9 points in a teaser has value.
Small card this week, but when you don’t see plays you like, it requires the discipline to not chase.
Good luck this week!
